‘#Maitino: the podcast’ premieres next Monday to continue the most exciting love story of recent years in ‘Acacias 38’. A spin off that arises from the relationship between the artist and her student, Maite and Camino, who after leaving the neighborhood bet on their love and moved to the French capital.

'#Maitino: the podcast' will consist of 12 five-minute episodes, which will premiere on July 20, on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:45 p.m. on RNE's 'Only in Podcast' and on the YouTube channel from RTVE.es. They will also be available on the ‘Acacias 38’ website.

It is a Boomerang TV and BTV Media production for RTVE, recorded in the studios of Radio Nacional de España, directed by Antonio De la Fuente and Verónica Sáenz, and produced and edited by Benigno Moreno and Mayca Aguilera.

A new life in Paris

The podcast begins when Maite (Ylenia Baglietto) and Camino (Aria Bedmar) arrive in Paris. For the young Pasamar it is a dream come true: living in the world capital of art with her beloved Maite is more than she could have ever wished for. But it is not all as idyllic as one might expect. Camino's difficulties with the French, being dependent on Maite and the closeness with a married friend of the experienced painter, Sophie and Nicolás (played by Cristina Sánchez-Cava and Ferrán Vilajosana), will make Camino suffer.

Above all, the close relationship between Maite and Sophie, professor of sculpture at L’Ècole d’Art where the young Pasamar studies. Camino tries not to get carried away by jealousy, but perhaps she is not completely wrong and the sculptor is a real danger to the love of the protagonists.

The story of a forbidden love

This impossible love story between two women with an age difference in Spain in 1913, began with the arrival of Maite in Acacias: a painter who has lived in Paris and seeks to recover inspiration and be independent. She soon meets Camino, a young introvert who is recovering from trauma and finds the only escape route in the drawing.

Maite takes her as an apprentice and offers to give her painting classes. The relationship forges little by little:she teaches her to see life differently, introduces her to the feminism of the time, and restores her confidence. First she becomes her referent, then her best friend and then her great love.

Faced with the difficulties that their relationship went through and after entering prison, Maite had to go back to Paris to protect her young lover.

A few weeks ago, Maite returned to Acacias and met Camino, in mourning after the death of her husband Ildefonso. The reunion was what they both needed to resume a relationship that they could never forget and start a new life together.
