What are cookies?  

​

Cookies are small text files that are downloaded and stored in the user's terminal (computer/smartphone/tablet) when accessing certain web pages and that allow the website to remember browsing preferences and navigate efficiently, making the interaction between the user and the website faster and easier.

The information collected by cookies is anonymous and does not contain any sensitive information (such as name, address or bank details) since they do not collect data that can personally identify the user.

What types of cookies exist?

  • According to its duration:

Session Cookies: These are those that last as long as the user is browsing the web page and are deleted at the end.

Persistent Cookies: These are those that  they are stored in the user's terminal for a longer time, thus facilitating the control of the chosen preferences without having to repeat certain parameters each time the website is visited.

  • According to its headline:

​

Own cookies: These are cookies created by the owner of the website and that can only be read by the site itself. For example: technical cookies for loading images, personalization cookies for web parameters, traffic analysis cookies, etc.

Third-party cookies: These are cookies created by third parties and used by the owner of a website for different services (eg website analysis or advertising).

  • According to its purpose:

​

Technical cookies: These are essential and strictly necessary for the proper functioning of a website and the use of the different options and services it offers. For example, those used to maintain the session, manage response time, performance or validation of options, use security elements, share content with social networks, etc.

​

Personalization cookies: These are the ones that allow the user to specify or personalize some characteristics of the general options of the Web page. For example, define the language, regional settings or browser type.

​

Analytical cookies: These are used by a website to create browsing profiles and be able to know the preferences of its users in order to improve the offer of products and services. For example, by means of an analytical cookie, the geographical areas of greatest interest to a user would be controlled, which is the most accepted product, etc.

​

Advertising cookies: These are the ones that allow the management of advertising spaces based on specific criteria. For example the frequency of access, the edited content, etc. Advertising cookies allow, through advertising management, to store behavior information through the observation of habits, studying accesses and forming a profile of user preferences, to offer advertising related to the interests of your profile.

How can cookies be disabled?

​

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookie preferences, to have more precise control over privacy.

The following links show the instructions to disable the configuration of cookies in each browser:

  • From the tools menu, select "Internet Options."

  • Click on the privacy tab.

  • You can configure privacy with a slider with six positions that allows you to control the number of cookies that will be installed: Block all cookies, High, Medium High, Medium (default level), Low, and Accept all cookies.

  • At the top of the Firefox window, click the Tools menu.

  • Select Options.

  • Select the Privacy panel.

  • In the Firefox option you can choose Use custom settings for history to configure the options.

  • Click on the menu located on the toolbar.

  • Select Settings.

  • Click Show advanced options.

  • In the 'Privacy' section, click the Content Settings button.

  • In the 'Cookies' section you can configure the options.

In the settings menu, select the “preferences” option.

  • Open the privacy tab.

  • Select the option you want from the "block cookies" section.

  • Please note that certain features and full functionality of the Site may not be available after cookies are disabled.
