Awards are something that usually come at the end of a career. However, there are also sections dedicated to young people with a projection, and Eibar actress Ylenia Baglietto is in that category. This week it has been announced that she has been chosen for the Ercilla Theater Prize in the Revelation category. The 29-year-old actress will receive the award at an event to be held next April in Bilbao.
The news of the achievement of the award reached Ylenia Baglietto in Madrid, where she is preparing ''El imposible mayor en amor, le vence Amor', a new project at the Teatro de la Zarzuela. "It is a baroque zarzuela, everything in verse, something different," she explains. The eibarresa has spent several years combining different theater, film and television projects.
After her participation in the well-known Goenkale series, she became a regular face on the Basque theater scene. “I found out from the newspaper that I was one of the Ercilla Prize nominees and when they called me I was impressed. That makes you see that your work is valued and that it seems that we are on the right track, "she says.
This edition of the Ercilla Theater Awards has recognized Aitana Sánchez Gijón and Adrián Lastra as the best performers of the season, and also distinguishes Héctor Alterio with the Special Award for Artistic Career. "Seeing your name next to actors and actresses in that category is exciting," Baglietto acknowledges.
The award is given for the work of the actress from Eibar in 'La gaviota', a play released last April. "Gustavo Tambascio was the director of a project at the Teatro Arriaga," he recalls. Chekhov's work served Ylenia Baglietto to get an award that with this call reaches its 32nd edition.

Ylenia Baglietto is not the only eibarresa who will be able to show up an Ercilla Award, since one of those corresponding to 2007 was for the Eibar Theater Days through its artistic director Juan Ortega. Precisely in the Theater Days that begin their functions on Tuesday, you can see a play in which the actress, 'Chihuahua Cabaret' participated. However, Ylenia Baglietto will not be performing in Eibar in that role since she was replaced a year after the premiere to start new projects.
Another work in which she is still engaged is the comedy "Little Red Riding Hood", in which she can be seen at the Colosseum Theater next September.
