Ylenia Baglietto (actriz conocida internacionalmente por interpretar a Maite Zaldúa en la serie de TVE1 ‘Acacias 38’ ) y Lander Otaola (actor bilbaíno que ganó el premio de Mejor Actor de Televisión por ‘Amar es para siempre’) presentan un espectáculo mordaz, irónico, divertido y profundamente emocionante. La ficción y la realidad se mezclan constantemente en este montaje autobiográfico a ratos musical y a ratos stand up comedy. Dos actores y un pianista. Música en directo. Crítica social. Actualidad. Mucho humor. Mucho amor.
¿Cómo surge esta obra?
Ylenia: Hace cinco años hicimos otra función en el Arriaga que se llamaba ‘Niños, dejad de joder con la pelota’ y decidimos que después de un tiempo haríamos la segunda parte. Teníamos eso en mente y ahora era el momento. Partimos de una esencia autobiográfica para contar las cosas que nos apetece contar.
Lander: Queríamos hacer una función en la que no hubiese personajes, queríamos ser Ylenia y Lander contando una historia.
¡El título describe este espectáculo a la perfección!
Ylenia: Pues sí, efectivamente. Y no solo el espectáculo si no nuestra forma de vida. Lander y yo siempre creemos que si hay amor y hay humor… ¡todas las cosas en este mundo pueden mejorar! Queremos mejorar el estado de ánimo de las personas que vengan a vernos desde el escenario.
Lander: Sí, creemos que es lo esencial en la vida. El amor y el humor son dos cosas que van unidas y no se entienden la una sin la otra. Queremos que esta obra sea un viaje de diversión y de emoción pura que tanto necesitamos en estos tiempos sombríos.
¿Por qué decís que es un homenaje para la gente que más admiráis?
Ylenia: Realmente, es un homenaje a los valientes, a la gente que siempre ha confiado en la cultura, que es lo que hace cambiar al ser humano. ¡En estos momentos es cuando más hay que agradecerles!
Lander: Es un homenaje a los que se dejaron la vida por su pasión, gente que fue asesinada o torturada o censurada por ser artista o por expresar sus ideas. Es algo de actualidad, la censura sigue existiendo en el arte.
¿Cómo se lleva ser pareja y actuar juntos?
Ylenia: Para nosotros, es muy fácil actuar juntos. Nos conocemos TANTO y hemos hecho tanto trabajo como pareja, que cuando nos ponemos en el escenario, nos miramos a los ojos y nos escuchamos, sabemos lo que cada uno necesita en cada momento.
Lander: Te hace tener una química brutal en el escenario, aunque hagas mil ensayos con otro actor es imposible de conseguir y esa química que tenemos en la vida real, la hemos trasladado a las obras y la hemos usado a nuestro favor. Muchas cosas son autobiográficas y son nuestra vida. ¡Tiene doble morbo!
Si tuvierais que elegir… ¿Televisión, cine o teatro?
Ylenia: Nunca elegiría. Quiero seguir pudiendo haciendo todo. Me lanzo a lo que venga en cada momento. ¡Pienso darlo todo!
Lander: Me da igual el medio, mientras el proyecto sea bueno. Pero he de reconocer que como soy un grandísimo cinéfilo, el cine es lo que más me tira.
¿Tenéis algún otro proyecto que nos podáis contar en breve?
Ylenia: Sí, proyectos entre manos hay… ¡Pero no os podemos decir más! En esta profesión hay que llevarlo todo en secreto hasta el último momento. ¡Y estoy de gira con el musical ‘Yo, la peor del mundo’! Tenemos ahora varias funciones por aquí.
Lander: Yo estreno la película ‘El cover’, producida por Amazon Prime y Universal Music dirigida por Secun de La Rosa. Se estrena este año en cines.
Temas bilbaínos que os propongo a continuación, en una palabra: gastronomía (esos pintxos), conciertos (esas maravillosas salas), teatros (menudos edificios tenemos), libros (¡qué bonito se escribe en el País Vasco!).
Ylenia: Pintxos: tortilla de patata de la Sala de Juegos de General Concha. Conciertos: Kafe Antzoki. Teatros: Campos Elíseos. Libros: sale en breve, Borja Ortiz de Gondra, ‘Nunca serás un verdadero Gondra’.
Lander: Pintxos: txangurro gratinado de El Globo, un clásico. Conciertos: Sala Azkena. Teatros: La Fundición, una sala pequeña preciosa de toda la vida. Libros: ‘Los ojos de las gaviotas’ de Lorena Gil Rey, una escritora vizcaína.
Sabemos que se os dan bien ambas cosas… ¡Dedicadnos unas palabras de AMOR y otras de HUMOR!
Ylenia: Gracias por hacernos caso, siempre es un placer. Esperemos que el Euskalduna esté lleno y no solo de gente de Bilbao… ¡que nos abran fronteras, por favor!

Love and humor, according to Ylenia Baglietto & Lander Otaola
Ylenia Baglietto (actress known internationally for playing Maite Zaldúa in the TVE1 series 'Acacias 38') and Lander Otaola (actor from Bilbao who won the Best TV Actor award for 'Amar es para siempre') present a biting, ironic, funny and deeply moving show. Fiction and reality are constantly mixed in this autobiographical montage, sometimes musical and sometimes stand up comedy. Two actors and a pianist. Live music. Social criticism. Current events. A lot of humor. Lots of love.
How did this play come about?
Ylenia: Five years ago we did another show at the Arriaga called 'Niños, dejad de joder con la pelota' and we decided that after a while we would do the second part. We had that in mind and now was the time. We started from an autobiographical essence to tell the things we wanted to tell.
Lander: We wanted to do a show in which there were no characters, we wanted to be Ylenia and Lander telling a story.
The title describes this show perfectly!
Ylenia: Yes, indeed. And not only the show but our way of life. Lander and I always believe that if there is love and there is humor... all things in this world can improve! We want to improve the mood of the people who come to see us from the stage.
Lander: Yes, we believe that is the essential thing in life. Love and humor are two things that go together and cannot be understood without each other. We want this play to be a journey of fun and pure emotion that we need so much in these dark times.
Why do you say it is a tribute to the people you admire the most?
Ylenia: Actually, it is a tribute to the braves, to the people who have always trusted in culture, which is what makes human beings change, and it is at these times that we have to thank them the most!
Lander: It is a tribute to those who gave their lives for their passion, people who were killed or tortured or censored for being artists or for expressing their ideas. It's something topical, censorship still exists in art.
How do you get along being a couple and performing together?
Ylenia: For us, it's very easy to perform together. We know each other SO well and we've done so much work as a couple, that when we get on stage, look each other in the eye and listen to each other, we know what each other needs at any given moment.
Lander: It makes you have a brutal chemistry on stage, even if you do a thousand rehearsals with another actor it is impossible to achieve and that chemistry that we have in real life, we have transferred it to the plays and we have used it to our advantage. Many things are autobiographical and are our life, it has a double morbidness!
If you had to choose... Television, cinema or theater?
Ylenia: I would never choose. I want to keep being able to do everything. I throw myself into whatever comes at any given moment. I intend to give it my all!
Lander: I don't care about the medium, as long as the project is good. But I have to admit that since I'm a huge film buff, cinema is what I'm most interested in.
Do you have any other projects that you can tell us about soon?
Ylenia: Yes, there are projects in the works... But we can't tell you more! In this profession you have to keep everything secret until the last moment, and I'm on tour with the musical 'Yo, la peor del mundo' (I, the worst in the world)! We now have several performances here.
Lander: I premiere the movie 'El cover', produced by Amazon Prime and Universal Music directed by Secun de La Rosa. It will be released this year in theaters.
