#MAITINO Un amor creado y cuidado desde la verdad

MewMagazine Septiembre 2020

HAY HISTORIAS QUE NACEN Y QUE MUEREN. DE ESAS QUE NADIE VUELVE A RECORDAR PORQUE PASARON SIN MÁS. APORTANDO LO DE SIEMPRE. DICIENDO NADA MÁS.Y LUEGO HAY HISTORIAS DE ESAS QUE TE REVIENTAN EL CORAZÓN. DE LAS QUE DESCUBRES DE DONDE VIENES, PERO, SOBRE TODO, A DONDE VAS DE LAS QUE TE ENAMORAS POR QUE, EN CADA PORO DE TU PIEL, HAN IDO DEJANDO UNA CURA PARA TUS HERIDAS. LAS QUE SANAN. LAS QUE, INDIRECTAMENTE, TE DICEN QUE TODO SALDRÁ BIEN. Y TE DAN ESPERANZA. DE ESA QUE SE NECESITA MUCHO MÁS DE LO QUE NUESTRA MENTE ES CAPAZ DE RECONOCER. Y ES QUE NOS ENSEÑAN A TENER QUE SER FUERTES. A MOSTRAR QUE NO NOS DOBLEGAMOS ANTE LA ADVERSIDAD. COMO SI ESTUVIÉSEMOS CAMINANDO EN UN VIDEOJUEGO, DONDE TUS PUNTOS INCREMENTAN AL MISMO RITMO DE LOS GOLPES QUE TE DAN. CUANDO LA REALIDAD ES BIEN DISTINTA.CUANDO MOSTRAR LOS MIEDOS, LAS INCERTIDUMBRES, NO IMPLICA NADA MALO. NI TE MUESTRA DEBILITADA.

ARIA BEDMAR E YLENIA BAGLIETTO NOS HAN CONTADO LA HISTORIA DE CAMINO Y DE MAITE. DE UN AMOR. UN AMOR SINCERO Y HONESTO. UN AMOR CUIDADO Y ACARICIADO HASTA LA EXTENUACIÓN. Y HEMOS SUFRIDO CON LOS SINSABORES Y ESOS SIN SENTIDOS QUE, HOY EN DÍA, SIGUEN SUCEDIENDO

NOS HAN TRASLADADO A UN PUNTO DE INFLEXIÓN. A COMO LA SOCIEDAD Y UNAS RELIGIONES NOS PAUTAN EL COMPORTAMIENTO. LO QUE ESTÁ BIEN Y LO QUE ESTÁ MAL. OBVIANDO, EN TODO MOMENTO, QUE SOMOS PERSONAS. Y QUÉ SENTIR NO DEBERÍA HABER ESTADO PROHIBIDO NUNCA.

Aria Bedmar (A.B.): Totalmente.

A.B.: Claro.

Y.B.: Hacen equipo.

THERE ARE STORIES THAT ARE BORN AND THAT DIE. OF THOSE THAT NOBODY WILL REMEMBER AGAIN BECAUSE THEY PASSED JUST PASSED. CONTRIBUTING AS ALWAYS. SAYING NOTHING ELSE. AND THEN THERE ARE STORIES OF THOSE THAT BREAK YOUR HEART. OF WHICH YOU DISCOVER WHERE YOU COME FROM, BUT, ABOVE ALL, WHERE YOU FALL IN LOVE BECAUSE, IN EACH PORE OF YOUR SKIN, THEY HAVE GONE LEAVING A CURE FOR YOUR WOUNDS. THOSE THAT HEAL. THOSE THAT, INDIRECTLY, TELL YOU THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE. AND THEY GIVE YOU HOPE. OF THAT WHICH MUCH MORE IS NEEDED THAN OUR MIND IS ABLE TO RECOGNIZE. AND IT IS THAT THEY TEACH US TO HAVE TO BE STRONG. TO SHOW THAT WE DO NOT BEND IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY. AS IF WE WERE WALKING IN A VIDEO GAME, WHERE YOUR POINTS INCREASE AT THE SAME RATE OF THE HITS YOU GET. WHEN REALITY IS WELL DIFFERENT. WHEN SHOWING FEARS, UNCERTAINTIES, IT DOES NOT IMPLY ANYTHING BAD. NEITHER SHOWS YOU WEAKENED.

ARIA BEDMAR AND YLENIA BAGLIETTO TOLD US THE STORY OF CAMINO AND MAITE. OF A LOVE. A SINCERE AND HONEST LOVE. A CARED AND CARED LOVE UNTIL THE EXTENUATION. AND WE HAVE SUFFERED THE SETBACKS AND THOSE WITHOUT SENSES THAT, TODAY, KEEP HAPPENING

WE HAVE BEEN MOVED TO A TURNING POINT. HOW SOCIETY AND SOME RELIGIONS SET OUR BEHAVIOR. WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG. OVERLOOKING, AT ALL TIMES, THAT WE ARE PEOPLE. AND THAT TO FEEL SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN FORBIDDEN.

Mew Magazine (MW): How do you live as actresses who, the maelstrom generated by the fans themselves, also generate new ways of telling. Because two people come to a daily series where the fans feel identified, they get to discover each other, to be filled with courage and all this translates to the confirmation of a Podcast to continue telling the story of Maite and Camino. Something unthinkable, I imagine, when all this started.

Aria Bedmar (A.B.): Totally. Also, the first thing the maitiners achieved was ‘#MaitinoEnYu. And that was when, for the first time, we realized how strong they were. And the ability to change things. That first ‘#MaitinoEnYu’ I will never forget in life. From a hashtag they have started to achieve many things. They work hard as a team . They have a lot of faith in this. They have a lot of faith in our work. It's really amazing.

Ylenia Baglietto (Y.B.): it changed a little for everyone. Even for the scriptwriters of Acacias 38 '. Knowing what worked and what didn't. They saw that there were little things, there were details, there were phrases, words, that we had to mention because they had become iconic. And I think this hasn't happened before in Acacias 38 'with a plot. I do not know.

A.B .: No, so much feedback, with so much force, no. Maybe there could have been couples who have attracted a lot of attention, but so much so that it leaves the series ... because the maitiners are not necessarily “acacieros”, which is what fans of the series call themselves. Many maitiners just follow this plot.

MW: There are wonderful platforms like YouTube that allow fans to see the story, their story, without having to 'swallow' any more plot.

Y.B .: Exactly. This has also been done by the fans.

MW: There are stories that generate a lot of solidarity among the fans themselves. Some upload the content, others do the translation, generate the subtitles ...

A.B.: Sure.

Y.B .: They make a team.

A.B: There is a group of girls who organize themselves so well. One makes the banner, another proposes the hashtag ... They are organized in a way that you say, wow. '

Y.B .: It's beautiful. That, a plot that you're involved in has this. And bring people together. And they give thanks for having met, for becoming friends ...

A.B .: Above all, because of that. Due to the fact that thanks to this they have found a common point with another person. And that they have included in their life. And that they would not have known without the plot of ‘Maitino’.

MW: I have been able to speak with some of those fans and when I asked them what most caught their attention in this story, the first thing they told me was that it was a very beautiful story, a very beautiful love, very good told and it was very honest.

Y.B .: I always say that what happened to Aria and me is that we have an artistic crush for each other. All of a sudden, we looked at each other's recording and said "wow, we understand each other and we don't know each other." The first day there was already a connection. It was looking at us and saying, "OK, we are in the same code." So, I think that is reflected. Because, the words that we have to say, we say them from the absolute truth. You look at yourself and you are really telling it yourself. You reflect it and people see it.

AB: There is not only one person as a scriptwriter, but there are several ... so, to really achieve the unity of the character, the actor or actress who is in charge of that character counts a lot because it is who , really, has lived through all situations and gives you that point of unity. So there are times that you propose based on what you think your character would say or the tone in which they would say it. In this case, we don't even name them. It is looking at each other and saying ..No? "this, right?", "Yes, yes, yes" (Laughter).

Y.B .: The last day of recording, for example. We turned it over.

A.B .: We listen to each other a lot.

MW: Another thing that stood out to me was the indirect communication that you tell me about. Even that in some scenes there was more dialogue in the looks than in the text you were saying.

A.B .: I think it's because of that trust we have on each other. We listen to each other. I know what your text is, but I don't know what your line of thought is. Well, get to a point where I know what you're thinking. If there is something that goes wrong, we redirect it together. Without crossing a word. We look at each other, we listen to each other, we read our minds.

Y.B .: In the end, it's like in life. You find people that, energetically, you connect and others with whom you don't. Aria and I, on an artistic level, we connect infinity. Suddenly things flow. It's wonderful because it doesn't always happen.

MW: A few weeks ago a colleague of yours told me that he began to work much calmer when he was aware of leaving his ego behind and making his partner or co-star feel good in the replica.

Y.B .: It's also in life, right? When you think that the other is okay, in the end, you end up being okay. Because giving is receiving.

A.B .: I think the first mistake of a rookie actor / actress is, I'm here, I put myself here and say my line. Like everything the world thinks is acting work. Which is normal because it is what you see. You don't see the work behind it as in many other professions. But speaking of this, I think that, at first, one always thinks that it is, I put myself here, I say my sentence concentrating on what I have to say, how I feel, where I transit ... No, no, no, look at the other. What do you think? What do you feel? When there really is chemistry, that comes out.

"WE LOOK AT OURSELVES. WE LISTEN TO OURSELVES. WE READ OUR THOUGHTS" - ARIA

MW: When they tell you that your story has reached more than 33 countries, what is your first thought?

Y.B .: There isn't one, there are a thousand (Laughter). It's like ... I don't understand anything! (Laughs)

A.B .: Also that it reaches Spanish-speaking countries you can understand it, but to non-Spanish-speaking countries such as Germany or China. China? Belgium? Romania? Russia?

MW: You also have to bear in mind that in many of those countries the way of telling the story is completely different from ours.

A.B.: Sure.

Y.B .: Do you know what I think? That love is universal. It depends on the country you are because you will live it in a colder way and in others with more heat, but, in the end, the looks of love, everywhere, are the same.

A.B .: I think that's it. The unspoken language.

Y.B.: Sure.

A.B.: That's what I think makes it more universal. With looks and silences, we have more than words. That is what has made it reach non-Spanish speaking countries.

MW: How do you remember your last scene together?

A.B .: Crying a lot. We cried out our lives.

Y.B .: We also had a few textlines and I just cried (laughs).

A.B .: We really enjoyed it. On that morning we let go of everything. All the tears.

MW: One has to carry out the farewell process ...

Y.B .: What happens to me is that I live everything, every day. So, I only remember that ending, on the day that I ended. I lived it there. And I have the feeling that Maite is still in me. I don't have the feeling that it's over. In the end, all the repercussions it has had keeps you there. And continue there with direct contact with the character. I live what happens to me everyday and I continue to enjoy it. Come on, like it's not really over. I cried, but I still think I is here somewhere.

A.B .: I think all the crying came not so much because the character was ending but because a very important stage was ending. Both for the character and of our life. Then, can it be another visual part of the character? It can be perfectly. You can always come back. You say goodbye. You cry everything, but from closing a stage.

When the podcast arrived, it felt like an overtime of a soccer game.

MW: How do you feel when the podcast is confirmed and how are the characters taken up from another way of working?

Y.B .: I got carried away a bit too (laughs). I told Aria that I had never done something like that. She told me something similar she had done. And I thought we would learn as we go. We were all going blindly.

A.B .: When we found out that the podcast was going to happen, we didn't know how it was going to be and how we were going to tell it. Of course, we have lived it to the fullest. Two weeks to start recording it

It was when we understood what the podcast was about. How and how it was going to be told. It was completely over as we went.

Y.B .: In fact, it shows from the first through the last chapters. In the latter, we were more loose. I think it has been a nice, interesting product. And people have liked it. So let's keep flowing (Laughter).

MW: By telling the characters in another way, have you rediscovered them?

Y.B .: I think so. Both Camino and Maite are placed elsewhere.

A.B .: Yes. Even physically. They are in another country. In an environment with another freedom, with another thoughts. There it already places you somewhere else. It's like a little reinvention of the character. Apart from how to transmit non-verbal language only with the voice.

Y.B .: Yes, yes, totally. And then the characters are placed elsewhere. Camino is in a new place. For Maite, Camino arrives at her place. Nor does she finish finding her place to take care of Camino.

MW: How would you describe, on a personal level, the journey you have lived with Maite and Camino?

A.B .: Doing a daily series is a “mili” (Military Service) of interpretation. They release you there (laughs). Whatever experience you have. They release you there alone and you have a coach who helps you the first days, but they cannot be there taking care of you as if you were a baby. You have to walk alone. This journey has been to understand who I am as an actress. How I do things. Learn to travel. Learn to overcome difficulties.

YB.: For me Acacias 38 ’(and Maite) has been the place where I realized that everything I have worked for all these years has been worth it. Which I have really learned. It has made me fulfill one more dream.

MW: When someone tells you that you have changed their life ... and at the end of the day, in that moment that we have before closing our eyes, when our thoughts travel through the day, what does it feel like?

A.B .: I cry a lot. In fact, I recently received a couple of handwritten letters telling me a bit about that. I always try to be very empathetic and that makes me very emotional. It gives me a lot of vertigo.

Y.B .: You realize that your profession serves to change things in this world. It is what makes me happiest. I think that, one day, when I decided to be an actress it was because I wanted to change little things in this society, in this life, in this world. And unintentionally I am succeeding. Just by doing my job. That creates impressive inner satisfaction for you.

MW: They say that music heals, but I think there are also characters that heal ...

Y.B .: Of course, most of the girls who tell you that their lives have changed are because, suddenly, they have seen that they are not alone. And I don't continue because I get emotional .

And it is so important that people see that they are not alone. That people see their stories and loves reflected ... Because, although there are people who do not want to see it, directly and indirectly, you are sending the message that everything is great. That you are nothing strange. Who, who you love, is as respectable as any other love. Fiction should not only be there to entertain. It must also be a reference and education. Because there are still many barriers to break down. Because there is a long way to go.

MW: Maite and Camino's love is ...

A.B.: Infinite ...

Y.B .: It is and will be ...

We hope so. We hope that long-awaited Spin OFF arrives. Let them bet more and more on stories that are really necessary. And take advantage of the charisma, disposition and chemistry offered by actresses like Aria and Ylenia. Because we must all be together. Fight for the same goal. We are not here to lose opportunities. We are here to conquer them.

Team up.

WHEN REFERENCES ARE MUCH MORE IMPORTANT THAN WE IMAGINE

ARIA BEDMAR, KENZY LOEVTTE AND YLENIA BAGLIETTO. THEY ARE THREE OF THE BEST REFERENCES THAT CAN HELP US HAVE A DIFFERENT AND MORE JUST FUTURE. EQUITABLE. MORE EMPATHIC AND SOLIDARY

by P. GUERGUÉ

It turns out that, these days, before the launch of this new number, a Twitter user has kindly reminded us of a few words from the former Barcelona Football Club player, Ivan Rakitic (current player, again, of Sevilla FC): "I Respect homosexuals, but I do not want those people in the locker room. I would not leave a team for that, because I respect homosexuals equal to a black man, a fat man or a midget, but if possible I prefer not to have gays in my life". And I don't know what disgusts me the most. If homophobia, racism, fatphobia ... that misplaced and disgusting mention that the word dwarf has, with that hint of moral superiority that should be rubbed with a scrubber... And these are the world references? Are these the ones we should worship? Let the presses stop! That I will get off this earth!

We must begin to change this world. Everyday. Slowly. We must begin to understand that it is in our hands. That we should not look the other way. That our actions, no matter how few, can add or subtract. And we have to begin to remove supposed "references" from our minds and begin to embrace those professionals, athletes, artists, who are here to give their heart, in a fair fight.

Let's start by turning our backs on those voices that say "respect" with that tone of absurd condescension. And let's turn our gaze to people who work, day by day, because everyone has the coexistence that we should have, once we get to this life.

In this issue, we have been fortunate to have three flagship people. Kenzy Loevett, Aria Bedmar, and Ylenia Baglietto. Voices with a social conscience and active listening. Voices that sit down to read heartbreaking stories. Who empathize and try to move. That doesn't stand still as if the story wasn't with them. And we talk about the work that can be done in music and fiction.

Of the importance of supporting interviews or shooting, like the ones we have been able to enjoy in this issue. We talk about giving visibility to stories. And to put a face on them. To be there when society needs you. And, as an audience, don't turn your back on them. Because we have a bad mania that we should polish. We have the bad habit of referring to people we would like to be lesbian, bisexual, gay ... and to people who really are, we tend to separate them. Or refer to supposed figures who support a group but who never speak publicly, while those who do, only receive ostracism. Do we really understand what this fight is about? Are we conscious? Or are we still stuck in a playtime game? On mindless whims?

As a public we have so much way to go ... We have so much to be thankful for ... For taking advantage of the opportunities that are suddenly offered to us ... For discerning between good and bad visibility …

Let's not get confused, please ... and let's not confuse them

"Today's girls and teenagers with non-normative affective-sexual tendencies swim in referents, they are still less than male but, compared to how we had it, they are surrounded by lesbians everywhere. In series, movies, tv shows, of all ethnic groups, nationalities and economic conditions, high class, mothers of families, cis and trans. When we had Encarna Sanchez they have Sandra Barneda. When we came out of the closet, our parents had in mind an implacable right-wing journalist, those of now have a presenter who hugs her girlfriend at sunset on Instagram and Dulceida”.

This is what a journalist wrote on a blog La Sexta a couple of years ago. A text that contains, in my opinion, an empty analysis. It seems that we confuse the referents with having sporadic appearances. Hopefully, the love between two women, they had as many feature films, as protagonists, as male figures have. Because machismo also exists within the collective. Do we calculate the minutes on screen that a story between women and a story between men gets? Which love will come out more scalded?

We talk about giving visibility to stories. And to put a face on them. To be there when society needs you.

Please, let's not tell the world that we swim between referents. Because it is not real. Referents are those stories that reach all families and each of their members.

Referents is that in ‘Acacias 38’, where everyone is aware that the general public is an adult public, see a love story between Maite and Camino. Because that will allow a granddaughter to talk to her grandmother. And that her grandmother doesn't see her granddaughter's girlfriend as a freak. Because, although this seems absurd, they are small steps that make a whole world. Steps that modify our actions and our thoughts. Because you have to enter into understanding to advance.

Hopefully a day will come when we understand that the role of culture and art is fundamental. That they give us a freedom that nothing else does. That puts us in the place that we really deserve.

Do not sell smoke. A reference is Kenzy, who lives by and for the music, and with her wife, they do not make a show of all this. They live within the normality that everyone should have. A reference is Aria Bedmar who, apart from giving life to 50% of Maitino, lives her love in freedom. By right.

A reference is Ylenia, the other 50% from Maitino. Who has risen to this fight with her own name. Not only to defend Maite and Camino from the troglodytes but to give her hands. Because, yes, we need everyone's hand. All, all and all!. The three of them are references because every day they work to make our world a better place. Just like, on the other hand, we have Carol Rovira and Paula Userio by the hand of “Luimelia”.

All of them have worked, they work and will continue working so that the day comes when

a girl enters with another girl, hand in hand, to her house and does not have to say the following words "I have to tell you something ...", "I have fallen in love, but ..." "I do not want to disappoint you ... "," I am afraid that you will reject me ... "

So that the day comes when loving a person of the same sex is not relevant, not something to be noted, or a family debate.
